Alticor Gives Back

Alticor, parent company of Amway, Access Business Group and Quixtar, believes it's our responsibility to give back to communities where we do business - and to ensure that our dollars make the greatest impact possible. That's why we created the One by One Campaign for Children.

One by One calls on Independent Business Owners, Alticor affiliates, employees, and customers to support one unified cause: improving the well being of children. Through this campaign, we have the opportunity to make a real, lasting difference by making life better for kids around the world.

Recently, Alticor's One by One program was recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with the 2005 International Community Service Corporate Citizenship Award, and in 2004 One by One received the American Business Awards "Stevie" for Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Since the program launched in 2003, we have: Provided hope and opportunity to more than 5.5 million children, contributed 839,000 employee and IBO volunteer hours, and donated more than $52 million worldwide. But those are just numbers. What makes One by One special is the belief that when you help a child, you help a community. You help the world.

One by One programs around the globe.

Special Olympics - Japan

Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 26 Olympic-type sports. Those who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence, and a more positive self-image.

This year, Alticor's Japanese affiliate sponsored the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, and many IBOs and employees served as event volunteers.

The Children's Cancer Institute of Australia - Australia

The Children's Cancer Institute of Australia is one of Australia's leading research and treatment centers for children suffering from cancer. Through the One by One program, Alticor's Australian affiliate has become the largest sponsor of this renowned and respected Institute.

Ping-An Medical Foster Home - China

Ping-An is a medical foster home that cares for many of China's most needy orphans. Abandoned children, often with severe disabilities or congenital diseases, find refuge at the Ping-An home, which means "peace and safety" in Cantonese. Children entering the home receive badly needed medical care, including surgery. By helping these destitute children, the Ping-An Foster Home greatly increases their chances of adoption.

China's One by One program supports this organization by donating time, money, and essentials, such as toys and clothes.

Braille Project - India

It's estimated that more than 2 million children of school age are blind. India's One by One program is working with schools to provide free Braille text books to thousands of these disadvantaged children. So far, Alticor's affiliate in India has enabled more than 45,000 blind children to read and to learn through these Braille materials.
