With their fourth child on the way and one daughter in and out of the hospital, the Kerrs were looking for a secondary income to support their family. Bill had a farm business but with Janice needed at home and the medical expenses mounting, they were rapidly accumulating debt.

Without money to invest in a conventional business, Quixtar presented the Kerrs an opportunity to role up their sleeves, work hard, and build a business as big as they wanted. Their Quixtar business met their financial needs but also gave their family an optimistic plan for the future that it never had before.
