For more than 85 years, Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and their families live better lives. Easter Seals provides top-quality, innovative services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals. For 21 years, the Alticor family of companies and Independent Business Owners (IBOs) have been a powerful force in support of Easter Seals. Quixtar continues that tradition as a national sponsor in the U.S. of Easter Seals and a presenting sponsor of Walk with Me, Easter Seals' signature fund-raising events held throughout the U.S.
Quixtar’s Canada's charity of choice, Easter Seals Canada is supported through a variety of programs and initiatives:
Quixtar Canada is a National Supporting Sponsor for the Easter Seals Drop Zone, an exciting fundraiser that allows average Canadian superheroes to trade in their suits and briefcases for helmets and harnesses and rappel down tall buildings in major urban Canadian centres.
Our ongoing Beauty Begins with Heart program donates proceeds from the purchases of selected Artistry®-branded items to be donated to Easter Seals Canada.
In addition, we offer our Independant Business Owners and customers the opportunity to support Easter Seals Canada through online donations directly from the Quixtar website.
Quixtar support for Easter Seals is part of Alticor's award-winning One by One program focusing global philanthropic efforts on the needs of children.
With the shared belief that true beauty comes from within, Artistry®, Quixtar's exclusive skin care and color cosmetics brand, is honored to partner with Easter Seals on Beauty Begins with Heart. This new charitable program provides opportunity, hope, and independence to thousands of children with disabilities.
The Artistry Beauty Begins with Heart program is one more way that Quixtar and Quixtar Canada supports Easter Seals.
Quixtar is proud to serve as a national sponsor of the U.S. Dream Academy. Established by renowned gospel singer Rev. Wintley Phipps in 1998, the U.S. Dream Academy empowers at-risk youth by providing them with academic, social, and values enrichment through supportive mentoring programs.
The U.S. Dream Academy places a special emphasis on children with an incarcerated parent, as studies show that these children are six times more likely to end up in prison one day. The U.S. Dream Academy also provides programs for children falling behind in school as these youth also are at higher risk for future incarceration.
Recognizing that the “digital divide” in many of the nation's disadvantaged communities further separates those that have from those that don't, the development of computer skills and access to the Internet are central elements of U.S. Dream Academy programs. The U.S. Dream Academy has 11 centers around the country that provide after-school programs using technology and one-to-one mentoring as key components of their intervention program.
Since 2005 Quixtar has donated more than $2.4 million of products to the Today Show Toy Drive.
This donation is a public expression of Quixtar’s efforts to improve the well being of children around the world through its One by One Campaign for Children. It also demonstrates Quixtar’s support of the United States Direct Selling Association, whose member companies combined donation totals nearly $22 million in products and cash to the Today Show toy drive in recent years.
